About Us

Cozy Creature grew out of experiences that Michael had operating his handyman business for over 15 years, servicing Cary and the Chapel Hill area. He often had wonderful encounters with pets at the home in which he was working. Clients noticed the rapport between him and their pets and began asking if he would be interested in caring for them while they were away on vacation.

Over time the pet sitting requests began to be so numerous that they conflicted, time wise, with Michael's handyman work. He mentioned to Ponie that he was going to have to give up the pet sitting as it was becoming too difficult to manage both. It was at this point that Ponie took over the scheduling and joined in caring for the critters.

Cozy Creature was born in 2003 as its own entity. In 2006, Michael was in a car accident. His injuries forced him to temporarily stop doing the kind of work necessary for most of the handy-man requirements. He found himself doing the pet sitting full-time and loving it! His body healed and he found his heart and inspiration was in servicing the animals and the people who love and live with them.
